Sweet Home Alabama

Warning: Lots of pictures. We had a blast in Alabama. We enjoyed our visit and stayed with my dad and he spoiled us with many outings to eat seafood and steak. We spent time with Mike's brothers and sister also. I got to meet my newest niece Clara which is 2 months old. The girls loved the weather although for out there it was a little cold but still warmer than Utah. We took the girls canoeing on Mike's brothers pond and Mike got to even play a little golf. It was a relaxing and enjoyable trip. One of the pictures is Sydney kissing a moose at a great Irish restaurant in Pensacola. She saw the moose and said she wanted to give it a kiss. And we missed Mardi Gras by two days so we bought the girls some beads and masks and it was a hit they walked around the house with them on. It was so cute. And Mikes brother had us over and the boys played rock band and brooke loves playing the guitar so she sat down on the couch with them and played the guitar thinking she was in on the game. It was funny. Thanks dad for letting us stay with you and spoiling us.

Nothing New

I hate when I go forever without posting something. I just haven't had anything to post. We have been carless for about 2 weeks. I got into a car accident on Dec 17th and we had a rental for a month but now we still don't have our car and the insurance won't pay for any more days of a rental car so me and the girls have been stuck inside going crazy. Thanks goodness for paints and a 4year olds imagination for play. Some good news we are leaving to go to Alabama on Friday so maybe when we get back I will post pictures. I have a bad habit though of going on vacation bringing my camera and not taking hardly any pictures. Hope everyone is having a good 2009 so far.

2009

I think about as the year comes to an end about the next and wonders what's in store for the year to come and of course think about my regrets and should of's from the year before and as I sat thinking about 2009 and what I want out of it or what I would like to do different this year My #1 resolution for 2009 is to spend more quality time and be more of a patient mom to them. I love them so much but I know I let everyday stresses get in my way of a good attitude and sometimes I sit on the computer too long, or get rapped up in cleaning or cooking instead of playing on the floor building blocks, playing dress up or just paying attention to them. My #2 resolution is to be thankful more for the things I have and not worry so much at what I don't have or what someone else has that I don't. This is something I struggle with and need to work on. I am a blessed person and have two healthy girls and a very kind and funny husband who loves me inspite of all my weeknesses and is working hard to put food on our table. I have wonderful friends and a great family (in laws and all) and the gospel. I have nothing to complain about when I look at these perspectives. Why am I writing a novel on my blog? I just wanted to write down my goals so I have them documented and wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year. May 2009 bring all of you good health, happiness, and whatever you heart desires.

Our Family Tradition

Since Mike and I have been engaged every Christmas we have went up to Sundance Resort to have their famous tortilla soup and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We have been 5 years out of 8. Being off in North Dakota hampered a couple of years. It is especially nice since we have kids now to make sure we do this every year while out in Utah. I enjoy our little tradition and really enjoy the memories that it brings.

Happy Birthday Brooke

Today is Brooke's Birthday and my little girl is 4 years old today. As a mom that makes me happy and sad because she is growing into this beautiful little girl but the sad part is that she is no longer my little baby. She is getting so big.
Today we got up and Brooke helped me with her cake and kept looking at the picture and the actual cake and told me it was different. Then we went up to the Mayan and had dinner. The food isn't the best but kids love the entertainment. It is set up like a rainforest and has cliff divers putting on a show. Brooke loves that place. Then we came home and had presents and ice cream she got a skateboard from Michael and princess stuff from mommy.
Things about Brooke

-she loves preschool

-she absolutely is obsessed with princess stuff

-she is the sweetest thing she is kind and loving in every way possible.

-she is a daddy's girl

Happy Birthday Brooke we love you.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I just have to post on how excited I am for Christmas this year. I just love Christmastime. I always have but now that I have kids and even more that this year they both are excited and comprehend alittle more about it this year makes it even better. We have been watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music in the car (gotta love xmas stations) and the Brooke has already started talking about what santa is bringing her.(so cute) Last night we drove around to look at lights and both the girls were looking out their windows saying mommy look at this or look at that it made me giddy with excitement about how happy they are and how I love the Christmas spirit and how everyone is just a little more kinder and happier this time of year. So I hope everyone can enjoy the excitement leading up to Christmas day.
